Richmond Raceway - Cup Series Race Winners
The NASCAR Cup Series is a stock car racing series owned and operated by NASCAR (the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing). NASCAR’s premier series had been known as the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series since Jan. 1, 2017, rebranded in 2020. It holds races over the season at tracks located in the United States both road courses and ovals. Although the roots of the series was in the use of "stock" manufacturers vehicles, todays cars are custom built automobiles powered by custom built V8 engines.

Richmond Raceway - Cup Series Race Winners
Richmond Raceway is a 0.750 mi (1.207 km), D-shaped, asphalt race track located just outside Richmond, Virginia. In 1948 when the NASCAR schedule was being formed, Richmond joined several others on the circuit. In 1953, the track began hosting the Grand National Series with Lee Petty winning that first race in Richmond. The original track was paved in 1968 and redesigned in 1988 into its present D-shaped configuration. When originally opened it was known as Atlantic Rural Fairgrounds, changing to Virginia State Fairgrounds in 1964, Richmond Fairgrounds Raceway in 1969 and Richmond International Raceway in 1998. |
